The new legislation brought, among other things, changes to the conditions for the performance of expert activities by expert entities, meaning expert offices and expert institutes. One particular new feature is the duty to have rules for work procedures ensuring the proper performance of expert activities and the duty to have internal regulations that set out the way in which an expert report is to be “acknowledged”. The purpose of this article is to familiarise the reader with the new duties and to clarify their meaning. However, the article is not only focused on theory; one of its tasks is also to provide the affected entities with at least a rough guide as to what areas can or should be included in the aforementioned materials so that they can be incorporated into existing or newly created internal documents.
