An evaluation of Visegrad group business environment

Abstract: Evaluation of the business environment and enterprises is a key element of the economic success of countries. The Doing Business indicator issued by the World Bank is used to characterize the business environment and compare the economies of over 190 countries. The present paper is focusing to examine and compare the selected indicators of Visegrad 4 countries in order to obtain information about the position of the countries in relation to one another. The aim of this study is to assess the economic situation of the V4 countries (Slovakia, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland) based on the Doing Business research and examine the changes in the past five years. The chosen indicators to be examined and compared are the indicator starting a business, paying taxes, getting credit and resolving insolvency.
